The Duchess can easily pull off wearing a peplum since she so petite and slender - by adding a ruffle to her waist, she gives her body more of a balanced, hourglass shape. And of course that extra bit of fabric could come in very handy when she gets pregnant and wants to hide a baby bump as long as she possibly can.
Here Kate can been seen working peplums with two very different looks - one is a conservative blue dress Lange Cocktailjurken suit that the peplum gives a touch of femininity to, and the other is a gorgeous turquoise-adorned gown that the peplum adds some sexy curves to.

The peplum really accentuates ScarJo curves and her tiny waist, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that she loves the look so much that she decided to wear a dress with a similar accent to Avengers premiere in London. However, this time she might have went just a touch too far with her extremely busy gown. Scarlett went with a strapless dress featuring a red rose pattern on top and violet fabric covered with black lace roses on Cocktailjurken 2013 the bottom. She then cut herself in half with a black apron-like peplum that just looked totally out-of-place. Still, Scarlett so gorgeous that we forgive her for trying too hard to look like an English rose like Kate.
Kim Kardashian might be ridiculously curvy, but even she can pull off the peplum by wearing it right. Last month she and Kanye West went on one of their first dinner dates in NYC, and Kim opted to wear a classy black cocktail dress with a peplum and a big ruffle down the front of it. It might seem like way too much fabric, but since the dress was cinched in at the waist and the slimming color black, it made her look amazing.
However, Christina Aguilera is definitely an example of how to not wear a black peplum. On Monday Voice judge donned an extremely bizarre pantsless outfit that consisted of a black Alexander McQueen jacket with a peplum; black Christian Louboutin knee-high boots; fishnets; and a pair of tiny black boy shorts. She topped off her look with a skull tiara. The revealing outfit just looked ridiculous, so here a good rule of thumb when it comes to the peplum - if it attached to a jacket, it probably a good idea to wear pants or a skirt with it.
